iSMA-B-AAC20 is now BTL Certified!

The iSMA-B-AAC20 series controller is evolving in some exciting ways with its biggest update so far! Global Control 5 (GC5) proudly announces completed BTL certification for iSMA-B-AAC20 Series under the BACnet International Advanced Application Controller (B-AAC) device profile. With this tested and approved certification from BACnet, the AAC20 Controller now offers many opportunities to be present on different projects! The AAC20 joins the range of iSMA products that are already BTL Listed:

The iSMA-B-AAC20 device is a fully programmable controller based on the Sedona Framework. The last version of Niagara Workbench to support Sedona Framework is 3.8 (known as AX), however Niagara 4 does not support Sedona any longer. That’s why GC5 decided to develop its own tool to support Sedona based controllers.

iSMA Tool for iSMA-B-AAC20: simple name, intuitive software

The good news is that the tool is freeware, and the newest version can be downloaded at any time from GC5’s open source webpage. The iSMA Tool software is extremely similar to Niagara Workbench, so for engineers working with Niagara, the learning process of the new environment will take only a few hours. iSMA Tool is under constant development with GC5 fixing bugs, improving tool features, or adding new functions to it.

An advanced controller for advanced users

At first glance, it may be hard to believe all this is available from one controller, but iSMA have made it so with this nifty little controller packing a ton of possibilities:

  • BACnet IP
  • isma-b-aac20BACnet MS/TP
  • Modbus TCP
  • Modbus RTU
  • 1-Wire, M-Bus
  • DALI, LCD

It has 22 I/O on board (8xUI, 4xDI, 4/6xAO and 4xDO) and can be ordered with the following options: with LCD, additional Mbus or DALI interface.

The controller supports Modbus and BACnet both through RS485 and IP. Built-in web server allows to configure communication and local I/O as well as diagnostics. To collect alarms and trend logs the AAC20 has RTC and SD Card provided. The device is powered by 24 VAC/DC. Download the latest datasheet.

The AAC20 is a typical application controller, which integrates standard BMS protocols. Built-in Modbus TCP/RTU Gateway allows a Supervisory System to read Modbus devices connected to RS485 interface of the AAC20 unit.

The application programming based on pack of the kits is provided by GC5. The different components need to be linked to create logical connections between I/Os, network variables etc. Advanced users can develop their own kits using JAVA based language.
