Intelligent Building Controls Limited (IBC) is a distribution company incorporated in Ireland. The purpose of this statement is to set out how we use personal information that you share, obtained by us when you register as a user of the services provided by IBC and by using the IBC website, you agree to this policy.

App Privacy

Downloading our apps does not require any registration of personal information with IBC. IBC does not collect any data on you or your use of any of our applications after it is installed onto your mobile device. After installation, any physical data measurements recorded using the mobile device’s sensors is stored in the internal memory of the mobile device, unless otherwise transmitted voluntarily by the user to a third party through the data export feature. IBC apps do not require Internet permissions.

 

App Permissions Explained

Each IBC app requires different levels of permissions depending upon the sensors capabilities of each app. At most, the following permissions are required for the following purposes:

  • Location: to determine precise location via the GPS (for the GPS mode)
  • Photos/Media/Files: to save and/or read recorded sensor data
  • Storage: to save and/or read recorded sensor data
  • Camera: to control the camera flash (for the Stroboscope mode)
  • Microphone: to collect audio information (for the Sound Meter, Tone Detector, Oscilloscope, and Spectrum Analyzer modes)
  • Other: to control the camera flash and to prevent the mobile device from entering sleep mode while collecting data

Our Application may request to use certain sensitive permissions based on the Android Operating system these include:

CAMERA

Used for permissions that are associated with accessing the camera or capturing images from the device. This permission allows this application to capture the user’s photos of valves and equipment to embed within an email.

 

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Used for permissions that are associated with the Android OS file storage system. This permission allows images captured from the camera to be saved to phone storage.

 

READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Used for permissions that are associated with the Android OS file storage system. This permission allows photos to be read and passed to the email client via the Application.
